This month the Cory Center staff is focusing on books that we think will help you inspire your team, grow your ministry, or simply challenge you personally.

I love reading. Books allow you to explore the thoughts of others and often challenge what may have become a comfortable thought pattern. As a leader in CFM, we need these challenges. Even though I haven’t agreed with everything I’ve read, I’ve never failed to be blessed to read the thoughts of so many others. In fact, I consider reading a great (and inexpensive) way to gain access to some great mentors.

Summer is a great time to reflect on how the year began, plan for the fall, and make the changes necessary to move toward a strong finish for 2016. I realize that summer can also be a very busy season – but that’s not a good reason not to gain the knowledge that others are sharing through their books.

I want to encourage you to make a commitment to reading at least one book before the end of September. I’d love to hear what your reading and what you think about it. Is it challenging you? Will it reshape a part of your ministry? Is it complete garbage? Let me know in the comments.

I pray that God will bless you during your reading time and open a new avenue to reach children and their families for the betterment of His Kingdom.
